About me

Joanna Guo is passionate about teaching piano and sharing the joy of music with young learners. She began her musical journey at the age of 5, and by 18 was admitted to the International Program at South China Normal University. She earned her B.A. in Music from California State University, East Bay in 2016, followed by an M.A. in Music with a focus on Piano Performance from the same institution.

With a diverse background in piano pedagogy, Joanna creates a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can build strong technical foundations, develop musical expression, and gain confidence at the keyboard. Her teaching approach balances solid fundamentals with creativity, encouraging students to express themselves through music and fostering a lifelong love of music.

Joanna offers piano lessons in Pleasanton for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced performers. She specializes in preparing students for recitals as well as internationally recognized examinations, including ABRSM, Certificate of Merit (CM), and RCM. She currently teaches at Ingram and Brauns Musik Shoppe in Pleasanton and H-Music in Foster City, serving students in Pleasanton and surrounding areas. Fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, she is able to connect with and support a diverse range of students and families.
