We recognize the uniqueness of each student, and as a result, we customize our teaching methods to suit their individual needs. When working with younger students, our main objective is to sustain their interest in music. During these lessons, we incorporate activities such as flashcards, rhythm tapping, and singing. For those who have been playing the piano for a while, we encourage them to consider taking exams, as it can significantly enhance their understanding of music. Students who are considering taking exams or participating in competitions are recommended to opt for 45-minute or 1-hour lessons. During these sessions, they will receive comprehensive training in techniques, repertoire, sight-reading, ear-training, and theory
We will conduct online lessons using Zoom as our platform to connect with all our students. It is recommended to have two devices prepared, such as laptops and tablets or iPads. Position one device in front of the piano or keyboard, allowing the student to see the instructor on the screen. Place the other device on either the left or right side of the piano or keyboard to enable us to observe the student's hand positions. At the end of each lesson, we will either verbally assign homework or upload it to a Google doc for the students to access. Parental support is particularly important for younger children aged 4-6 during the lessons
We are providing theory classes that are available both online and in-person, commencing six months ahead of the CM and ABRSM theory exams. The latest recommended time to start preparing for the CM exam is September. Considering the difficulty of the ABRSM theory exam, it may require a little longer duration for preparation. Each class will cover at least 1-2 topics and include thorough reviews and exercises. Practical exams will be conducted two months before the test. Individual theory classes offer students the flexibility to choose between 30-minute, 45-minute, or 1-hour sessions, depending on their personal preferences and needs. Conversely, group classes, which can accommodate an estimated 2-3 students, are conducted entirely online and are set to last for 45 minutes.
